Connie Thatcher - Dragonfly Kiln Works
In 1991, Connie Thatcher began working with stained glass, but soon became frustrated with the limitations of the media, and began experimenting with fusing glass in kilns. She soon fell in love with all the possibilities and began exhibiting pieces at art shows throughout the Midwest.
In 1998 she learned to weld, and now incorporates welded steel rod in some of her fused glass work. This was later followed by the nature progression of using copper, brass and silver to reflect the timeworn aura of treasure recovered from a ancient ruin with pieces that have been ‘aged’ then sealed to preserve their timeless beauty.
Now preparing to enter her 3rd decade of full time exhibiting, Connie looks back and finds great satisfaction and gratification at the numerous awards she has won and the joy her art brings to patrons across 9 states.
