Bari Precious has been working with clay for over 40 years and feels the substance has never lost its charm. Currently, she is enthralled with new and wonderful colors and designs that change every time they are fired.
Formally educated at both the Emily Carr School of Art and Design in Canada and The Ohio State University where she joined a team of archeologists who traveled to Iran to help organize pottery finds. In the late 90’s, she attended Missouri State University where she completed a degree in Ceramics. Bari has also spent time in rural China studying both ancient and modern pottery techniques.
Pulling from all of these sources, Bari – and the inspiration she gets from her present business of Precious Pots, makes all of her own glazes and does her firings in an electric kiln.
